I was a real estate professional for 24 years. I owned and operated 2 different real estate companies, originated home loans, and invested in distressed property with my wife Frances. From the outside looking in I was successful and living a comfortable lifestyle. But the truth of the matter is although I accomplished my goals outwardly, I neglected to take care of me from within. You see I was suffering in silence and all of the things around me were bandaids. Fortunately, in 2018 things began to change.
I always had a deep desire to live on an island. I began to research various Caribbean islands and curiously had a strong attraction for Aruba. Me and Frances created 2 vision boards together and in the middle of one boards I wrote the word ARUBA in red and green marker. We were proud of our vision boards. I created a spot in my office especially for them, then we went back to life as usual. So I thought.
A couple of months later, I was gently led from within to to research the possibility of becoming a Life Coach. After performing my due diligence, I realized this was a match for me. I love helping people and feel a deep calling to serve humanity in a new way. So I dived in. Yes, I walked away from my real estate career to become a Certified Life Coach.
Well, shortly after I made this major transition in my career, Frances shared some exciting news with me. She had an opportunity to work abroad, “IN ARUBA” Frances applied and was offered the position, which she accepted. In less than a years time, from which we created the vision boards, we found ourselves plus our two cats, Muffin and Princesdiana, flying to the southern most Caribbean island Aruba.
I love vision boards. First they are a whole lot of fun to make. But visions boards allow you to take your deep desires from within and bring them into the physical. There is something mysterious and sacred about having the ability to imagine something then see it manifest in the physical. The cool thing about it is anybody can do it. Actually, we do it all the time. Wow! How powerful is that? We are all CREATORS.
